Yes, metal roofing can be installed in the wintertime.
This weeks roof project will not be the first one this year to prove that. Unlike asphalt shingles that need warm temperatures to seal so wind isn’t able to get under them, metal roofing can be installed in cold temperatures. Like other wintertime projects it is more difficult in many respects. We will discuss some of them in this article.
From having to shovel snow off the roof, to going back in the spring after the snow is all gone to finish cleanup there is definitely more involved for wintertime metal roofing. So if you have other things to do (for example I toured the local Central States plant) this is the time to do it. But when the work has to get done sometimes it means braving the elements. Below zero windchill or falling snow did discourage work quite a few times this season allready. But another Metal Roof Job is underway and this post will introduce and update you to it.
